Remembering Mass Effect
In fact, I became a fan of the ingenious series Mass Effect relatively recently. Anyway, before the release of the third part, about her, that is, about the series, did not know because of the complete lack of interest in the game industry as a whole. But when I began to get involved in this environment a little, I realized that sooner or later I would have to get acquainted with Mass Effect at least out of the motives of pure interest. And interest was not long in coming.
From the first minutes, Mass Effect shook me in a wild delight. And this despite the fact that from the gameplay point of view there was a game, something to hide, quite primitive, however, cinematography, global, the epic of everything that was happening on the screen shocked me to the depths of my soul. And this was the very first Mass Effect – the one at which most of today’s “gamers” will be looked at at least with surprise. Indeed, there was a minimum of the graphs there and it did not differ in a special highly polygonity (which is not surprising, the game is already 2007). Nevertheless, skillfully constructed scenery and amazing design created the effect of complete immersion in this incredible atmosphere of galactic madness. And although for many these words will sound strange – but the first Mass Effect was an unusually beautiful game. In some aspects, even more beautiful than the next two parts.
And in the original Mass Effect me, as a unlimited gamer (which I probably remain now), both the combat system and the pumping system, the distribution of equipment and other things were very amused. I remember this always painfully filled inventory and hundreds of clicks on the “Rede-Gel” button, which by the end of the game and there was nowhere. These constant studies of each room and each door of each location in each mission (at least many “houses” from secondary tasks were terribly similar to each other) in search of a new inventory and first -aid kits. I remember the indescribable sensations of children’s joy, when in some god of a forgotten locker somewhere on the second floor of an incomprehensible building, I found some super version “Nagginati”, with which until some time “naginata” all the miserable opponents who have shoved to become my way. I remember the absolutely meaningless MAKO conveyor, on which almost all secondary tasks had to be held, and given that such a MISI was also deprived of auto -preservation, they turned into a continuous torment. Oh yes, these were indescribable sensations. And I remember how indignant from the fact that almost 90% of this routine pleasure was cut out from Mass Effect 2 under the root, which, of course, affected very positively on the dynamics. Anyway – this was rather a successful solution, nevertheless, depriving the game of a large particle of the Hardcore Sharm “.

Of course, another factor is an absolutely unique atmosphere. And we are talking not only about the development of scenery, but also about the general detailing of the game environment. After all, do not forget that, unlike any film or book, the Mass Effect trilogy provides much more immersion in the universe created by the authors. From the plot campaign, secondary quests, numerous parts of the Code, dialogues, excerpts of speech of ordinary residents of different localities, we can recognize incredibly many details about the universe in which the main events take place, to compose our opinion on certain events, to know the motives of the actions of certain personalities at different times. Thanks to this, the level of details of the environment (in the information plan) reaches a truly phenomenal scale. And do not forget the official series of books, comics and even one animated film, expanding the already incredibly wide universe Mass Effect.
But the main thing for which I madly fell in love with Mass Effect is an amazing plot. Struck by all its scale, and at the same time incredible depth, he managed to simultaneously combine both the problems of the entire galaxy and the “small” problems of the main characters – and this, by the way, is an indicator of the amazing skill of its creators. And the first part in terms of the plot was, of course, the most outstanding. Measured, with a calm local beginning, a crazy coup and an enchanting end – he did not let me go until the last minute, to the last line of the credits, until the main menu, I hoped that this is not all that was not all. It was a completely incredible story-the story of a curious and not a particularly important conflict with some Turian, who grew into a battle for the life of a galaxy. History of the Lieutenant-Commander, who became the main hope of mankind. Unfortunately, the subsequent series could not be equal to the plot of the first part, and they became only its logical continuation, devoid of special revelations (which does not at all begs the merits of the entire trilogy).
And let the opportunity to choose more illusory than the real, the feeling of the “creator of history” in the game was present on the full scale. And I think, the best characteristic of Mass Effect can be called the fact that at the end of the game I sat for a long time, watching the credits under the stunning composition “M4, Pt. II “Faunts groups, pondering what has just happened. And if I had a hat, I would take it off. If it made sense, I would get up and started long -term ovations.
Yes, this is definitely my favorite game.
