Games on which we have grown

Just the other day, relatives with their 5 -year -old daughter came to visit me. I rummaged in the dumb disks, I found games almost 15 years ago! Nostalgia was inhabited as an electric discharge (it is somehow strange to talk about nostalgia at 18). After tormenting a couple of days, he could not stand it and decided to write this post 🙂

In general, the disk with Quake 2 appeared immediately after the Father’s purchase by the bakery in 1999. Soon at home there was already an armful of disks with games (some will be mentioned here). I remember how my father fiddled with the settings for hours (for an unknown reason they did not hold on for a long time). And once, pretty tortured, he wrote down all the parameters for a paper sticker, which, unfortunately, did not live to this day 🙁 that is why I was very happy when I found the same disk since the very times, turned on the game and stick in it for a good number of hours.

If Kvaka was just an interesting and intuitive meat grinder, then Half-Life was the first game where I Driven I was afraid to move on! I was very often overwhelmed by animal fear of flattery in the cracks and ventilation 🙂 The local disinteriority was disgusted and interesting at the same time (the corpse was smashed into the skull, heart, lungs, bones of the legs, guts. Half-Life disk appeared almost immediately after Kvaki. Father turned on Halva and we both simply could not tear ourselves from her. And literally the next night I dreamed of a nightmare where Barnacle eats me 🙂

Good old Fargus

Jokes jokes, but Fargus really translated the game very well. Not without flaws and logical mistakes of course, but the voices were remarkably picked up. I wonder why the father always called the main weapon of Freeman Kocheyshka?

3.Age of Empires I/II

Let us a little distracting from the shooters 🙂 Father loved not only to blame the evil spirits, but also the peoples to develop/conquer. The first of him (and, accordingly, my strategies were the “Empire”. Father did not play them very often, giving preference to the Cossacks, but I liked it.

An interesting feature of the “empires” was the exhaustion of all resources (especially quickly of stone and gold, of which there was little). So we must rush to conquer other nations!
These were relatively simple and at the same time spectacular strategies, which are still interesting to charm. Their coolness is indicated by the fact that my mother played in the 2nd Empire (which is negative about the games)! How did she like the regime of regicide (since then she clearly knows what this is required).

The death of the king = instant defeat. And no one cares that you still have an army 🙂

4. Cossacks 2 – war again

One of the most epic RTS

As I wrote above, my father preferred this particular “Cossacks”. How he liked her! Especially the mission where you do not directly control soldiers and detachments, but only through the messengers 🙂

Of course, being 6 years old, I was not imbued with a plot, an atmosphere. I just liked to run and shoot from the air 🙂 I remember how I could not go through the level where I had to run from the D-6 bunker (I wonder why secret bunkers in games are often called D-6?) And I had to yelling heart -rending call his father to the rescue. Or how I did not understand why the hourglass needed (only a couple of years later it dawned on me that it was Bullet Time). Or as a father once became so carried away by the game that he did not prepare me dinner. I had to starve until my mother returned 🙂

By the way, a long time ago Maxim Kulakov struck this magnificent game with Maxim Solodilov. There is a record on SG. Who knows, maybe this stream will have a continuation 🙂

When I read such posts, I feel old. My childhood is a dandy, a little Sega and Sonya at the beginning of the zero. Kvaka passed on it.
